Daniel Builder is the culmination of 3 years of meditative and improvisational drawing exercises, done mostly while commuting to work on the subway. The process involved dozens of studies made in 3.5"x5.5" gridded notebooks, in which repetitive free-hand parallel lines and arrangements of 3d unit-boxes are arranged improvisationally, typically until the page is filled. A large drawing was doen using the same method, intended to become a tiled unit itself so that it may become a fully immersive experience.
